Humberto Ríos is a Master of Visual Arts from UNAM (2011). He attended the Contemporary Photography Seminar at the Centro de la Imagen (2006), as well as the Documentary Photography Program at the Centro de la Imagen (2008). 

Exhibitions · He has participated in exhibitions such as Médium within the Third International Photography Festival of San José in Uruguay where he presented his exhibition “Necromancia” (2018), In focus: Contemporary Photography in Mexico (USA, 2017), Classic Photographs L.A. (2017), Paris Photo (2016), AIPAD Show New York (2016), International PhotoEspaña Festival (2013), the Chacao Cultural Center in Caracas, the SESC of Consolaçao in Sao Paulo, the Centro de la Imagen, Chopo University Museum, Museum University of Sciences and Arts and the Gallery of the Mexican Laboratory of Images, to name a few.

His exhibition "Suspending Time" was presented in the Nacho López Room of the Fototeca Nacional (National Photo Library) in 2018. He also presented his individual exhibition "Futurum" within Patricia Conde Galería (2018). 

Awards · He has been the recipient of the Prize of the First Contemporary Photography Contest of Latin America (2018), nomination for the Purificación García Latin American Photography Prize in ZONAMACO (2016), he obtained the Acquisition Prize of the XXXI National Meeting of Young Art INBA-ICA (2011), Honorable Mention at the II Centro de la Imagen International Artist Book Fair (2011), the FONCA Young Creators Grant in two issues (2009-2010) and (2011-2012), the Young Creators Program Grant of the FOCAEM of the State of Mexico (2013) and in 2012 he was selected to participate in Trasatlántica - PhotoEspaña in San José, Costa Rica. He is currently a member of the National System of Art Creators of FONCA. In 2020 he was selected in Discoveries of PhotoEspaña.

Collections · His work is part of collections such as Bank of America Collection (USA), J.P. Morgan Collection (USA), Sistema Nacional de Fototecas (INAH, Mexico), Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, La Biblioteca del Museo Amparo.
