Moisés Levy

VIEW AVAILABLE WORK
Mexico, 1963.
He lives and works in Mexico City. With Architecture studies from Universidad Iberoamericana, Moisés Levy is a contemporary photographer who takes full advantage of his projects and themes. He works with different techniques such as platinum/palladium, photogravure and prints on Japanese paper. Although he also uses color, he dominates black and white photography. With the usage of high contrast images, he achieves powerful photographs where he integrates everyday moments with architecture and space.

His photographs capture fleeting moments of unrepeatable situations that transmit fragments of everyday life with a dynamic aesthetic and graphic language reaching almost the limit of a drawing. His work is created from a mixture between drawing, photography, space, perspective and scale. He photographs from angles that generate unusual perspectives with contrasting scales and minimalist scenarios that represent the different dimensions of human beings, generating questions in the viewer. He usually captures backlit images to achieve a perception that conveys more concepts than details.

Moisés Levy has had multiple shows, both international and national. Some of these are at the CDI Gallery, Mexico (2019), at Latitud Gallery, Mexico (2016), at the Indianilla Cultural Center (2014), CODEX Mexico (2012), among others.
